Can't believe it is already the middle of February. I feel that Mark finally turned the corner last Friday. Every day he is getting a bit stronger.
He had a couple very good follow-up doc appointments the past week. His oncologist ran a scope down his nose and throat, and cannot visibly see the tumors anymore !! This is the best news we have gotten so far. The treatment has definitely blasted the cancer masses. It's way too soon to know if he is healed, but definitely heading in the right direction. It will still be a couple months before they do the final PET and CAT scans and other tests to see if the cancer is 100% gone. Kidneys are still an issue. Kidney function right now is at 35%, and we are hoping they will continue to get stronger as his healing progresses. Hearing loss in left ear is significant, and they will do hearing tests down the road. If hearing doesn't improve, he will go the hearing aid route. Weight loss has hopefully peaked. He is down 30 pounds now, and hovering around 150. The good news is the doc has agreed once he gets a bit stronger to schedule the feeding tube removal. Mark can hardly wait to get the tube out of his stomach.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, the perfect time to express our undying love to our Team Mark friends and family. You have provided us with the love and support and strength that has gotten us thru the past few months. We love you dearly, and are counting the days we can see you all to celebrate life, friendship, and YOU !!!! Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Perry
